Pelagius is an awesome Cavalry leader and also brings healing and restores rage with his active skill and offers a nice amount of stat buffs to Cavalry.
This means you really want to make sure to have the rage engine minded in your talent tree builds.
Best Pelagius Builds
There are actually two builds that are working great for Pelagius and depending on your troops you should use either one of them. The build with the Cavalry Tree is for me the stronger one but you will actually need Tier 5 Cavalry troops to make it use the full potential.
If you haven’t got your Tier 5 troops unlocked yet you rather want to use the Skill Tree Build that I have below as the second build here 🙂
Cavalry Build (Tier 5 Troops)
As I said, this is the build that you should use when you have T5 troops unlocked:
Build with RoKTalent Builder
So, here’s the best way to re-build this build when you don’t have Pelagius fully maxed out yet:
Cavalry Tree will be the first station for this build and you really want to make your way to Rallying Cry as fast as possible without spending any talent points somewhere else than needed to get there.
Once you’ve done that you can get the extra skills points into Undying Fury to get the extra rage as I mentioned in the beginning of this guide here.
Skill Tree is now where you can start spending your leftover points. Rejuvenate should be the first stop to get even more rage out of the primary skill when used.
If you have maxed him out the last points can go into Heraldic Shield for some nice damage reduction and Tactical Mastery and Latent Power for some extra skill damage. I don’t see any other points in the talent tree available at this point that make more sense.
Skill Build (Without Having Tier 5 Troops)
Now here’s the talent tree build that I recommend using up to the point where you unlock your Tier 5 troops:
Build with RoKTalent Builder
This is still a strong build so don’t get me wrong, but without T5 Cavalry you should rather go for the skill tree to get the biggest bang for your buck. The main objective here is skill damage increase, damage reduction and, of course, rage generation with Pelagius.
Skill Tree is the first stop here and you want to max it out as fast as possible by going to Rejuvenate first and then get Feral Nature unlocked as fast as possible. Don’t spend any extra points here because you rather want to spend them in the Cavalry Tree.
Cavalry Tree has also some nice things to get and the first one should be Charge to get Emblazoned Shield as fast as possible to get skill damage reduced. Reason for this is that many people target Cavalry so reducing the damage taken here will help a lot.
After that, Undying Fury is a good choice to get some more rage.
With the last 3 points left you have now several options that I all like somehow. Latent Power in the Skill Tree is nice for some extra skill damage. Halberd in the Cavalry Tree is also nice to get more damage against Archer units that you will see quite a lot with this setup and running cavalry army. Naked Rage is also an option but it’s actually hard if you get swarmed so I’d recommend thinking about that very carefully 🙂
You will run against several legendary commanders and they deal more skill damage while you won#t do that much so having 2% more damage for the cost of getting 2% more damage is probably not the best option.
